About the Association
The association of Chagas patients in Rio de Janeiro, Rio Chagas, is led by patients who wish to give voice to those affected to Chagas disease and to use the organization to make sure the demands of this group are heard by the government. IOC/Fiocruz students and scientists are also part of the association, which is open to new members.
Spotlight
The association has a Science Board, with the goal of bringing patients closer to specialists dedicated to studying the disease. The goal is to give visibility to this diasease that is both neglected and discriminated against, so the public can have access to a more rapid diagnosis and be cared with respect and dignity.
