About the Organization

The International Federation of Associations of People Affected by Chagas Disease (FINDECHAGAS) was officially created in October 2010 and currently consists of more than 20 associations from all over the world (Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, USA, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland, and Venezuela).

This is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to create, promote and share the principles and guidelines enunciated in the Declaration of Uberaba, deliberated at the first meeting of the associations of people affected by Chagas Disease in the Americas, Europe and Western Pacific, which took place in the city of Uberaba (state of Minas Gerais, Brazil) in 2009.

Spotlight

The organization intends to create a group of people who live with Chagas disease on an everyday basis: families, friends and people affected by the disease, in collaboration with multidisciplinary work groups to increase knowledge on Chagas disease, fight against stigma and indifference, and defend people’s rights, including the right to prevention and care.
