Associations of people affected by Chagas disease are meeting spaces for people who exchange experience, express solidarity, help identify shared problems and solutions and, based on a perspective of fight for their rights and for access to information, organize themselves in groups to place their demands. These are collective spaces where individual issues are also taken into account, in a quest to improve the health conditions of these people. Organization in associations is crucial to unify the voices of affected people, increasing their representativeness in agencies with decision-making clearance.
